Jafila International at the European Halal Expo 2018
As a co-organizer and media partner, Jafila International’s team participated in the fourth edition of the European Halal Expo in Utrecht, the Netherlands. From June 20-21, we supported the main organizer, the European Certification Center for Halal.
Around 100 exhibitors from countries including the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Turkey, Pakistan, Tunisia and Malaysia had the unique opportunity to present their products and services to the world business community.
The fair was part of the first International Week for Smart Food Production. It’s aim was to bring together the global food and agriculture industries with a total of 1200 exhibitors in the Jaarbeurs Convention Centre. With around 35,000 visitors from all around the world, especially from the European Union, the Balkan, Turkey, the Maghreb region, West Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, the exhibitions were well visited .
The global Halal Economy gathered in Utrecht
The two-day trade fair is an international platform for dealers and entrepreneurs from all sectors of the Halal industry, such as food and beverages, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceuticals, tourism and finance. The focus of this year’s Expo, however, was particularly on food production with exhibitors from all areas of the production chain. Large Halal slaughterhouses, producers of processed food and dairy products, manufacturers of machinery and equipment aswell as packaging companies and Halal certification centers introduced visitors and potential business partners to their latest projects and technological developments in the Halal food production.
“Halal is becoming increasingly popular, more and more companies want to expand their market and export more products We have set up this platform a few years ago to give Dutch manufacturers the opportunity to get in touch with foreign customers. Dutch exports”, says Miran Ismael, Director of the European Halal Expo.
Jafila International has accompanied the two days with a live stream to give exhibitors, producers and experts from all around the world the possibility to share their knowledge about the latest developments and trends in the halal industry with an interested audience that could not attend the fair in Utrecht.
